FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is BlenderZen?

BlenderZen is Tom McDonald’s practical Blender teaching brand: short practical tutorials, free guides and Udemy courses. The focus is workflows you can use on a real project, such as 3D printing, house models and Python.

Which Blender course should I take first?

If you’re not sure, start with 3D Printing from Zero to Hero in Blender: it covers modelling, real-world scale and STL export. If you mainly want houses and interiors, start with Architectural Design & Animation. All of them are on the courses page.

Are the courses for beginners?

Yes. They’re written for beginners and intermediate learners: the Python course assumes little or no coding experience, and Model & Rig a Car is built as a first modelling-and-rigging project.

Where are the courses?

All of them are listed on the courses page. Enrolment is on Udemy through my instructor links.

Is BlenderZen part of Blender?

No. BlenderZen is independent and not affiliated with the Blender Foundation.
