Archimesh still earns its keep when you are blocking in a house: doors, windows, stairs, railings. This is the door step from the current Architectural Design & Animation workflow, written as a short studio note rather than a full lecture.
You already have a floor plan in Blender and openings in the walls. The job is to drop a parametric door on each opening so the panel actually swings, and so you are not dragging seven objects around by hand.
Turn the add-on on
Edit → Preferences → Add-ons, search Archimesh, enable it. Press N for the sidebar and open the Create tab. Archimesh lives there. Expand it and you get the parametric objects. For this pass you only need Door.
Get the 3D cursor on the opening
Archimesh places the door at the 3D cursor. If the cursor is still in the middle of the room, the door lands in the middle of the room.
Select the ground-floor plan and isolate it with / (numpad slash). In the snap menu set snap to Edge Center. Shift-right-click, then Ctrl, to snap the cursor to the centre of the door opening. Check the cursor in the viewport before you add anything.
Add the door
In the Archimesh menu, add Door. You get a small hierarchy, not a single mesh: frame, panel, handles, and a parent object named Ctrl_hole.
Ctrl_hole is the one that matters. It shows as bounds in the viewport, it does not render, and it is the Boolean cutter that punches the opening in the wall. It is also the parent. Select Ctrl_hole and press G: the whole door moves. Select the panel and press G: it should barely move, because the location axes are locked. That is deliberate.
Make it swing the right way
The panel is free to rotate on Z. Select the panel, press R, and swing it. If it is 180 degrees wrong, Alt+R to clear the rotation and try again, or rotate the parent empty (often 90 degrees if the opening sits on the other axis). A 75-degree open pose is enough to check clearance against the plan.
If the door is on a wall parallel to Y instead of X, rotate the parent 90 degrees in the rotation field, then check the swing again.
Do the rest of the openings
Same sequence: isolate the plan, snap the cursor to Edge Center, add Door, rotate the parent to the wall, check the swing. Ground floor first, then first floor. Do not apply the Archimesh parameters until you are happy, or you lose the parametric height/width.
